The truth about the effectiveness of acupressure mats
Acupressure mats are everywhere, generating considerable enthusiasm among their users.
Trend or beneficial alternative solution?
We wanted to delve deeper and thus conducted a groundbreaking survey among users of the Climsom Zen acupressure mat.
An inquiry to gain better understanding of acupressure mat practice
325 individuals equipped with an acupressure mat via www.climsom.com or www.acupression.fr participated in a large-scale survey on acupressure.
These responses have allowed us to uncover the true usage of acupressure mats by those who are actually equipped and have firsthand experience with the practice of acupressure mats.
The results are astounding! Thanks to this survey, we have a better understanding of the users, their expectations, and the direct impacts of their practice on their daily lives… This information is invaluable and can assist you in your practice or in your search for alternative solutions to improve your daily life.
Curious to learn all about the usage and benefits of acupressure mats?
Let’s dive straight into the results of this survey!
The acupressure mat: for what purpose?
The vast majority of acupressure mat users equip themselves due to pain they aim to reduce or eliminate.
Thus, 80% are affected by back pain, 23% by joint pain, and 18% by other muscular pains.
Note: One user often has multiple needs, hence a total exceeding 100%.
The subject of sleep (falling asleep and sleep quality) is far from negligible as it concerns a quarter of users… Reactions to this subject are surprising and vary among individuals.
Some people are so relaxed by the acupressure mat that they fall asleep on it during their session… which is unthinkable for others!
Other users prefer morning use as they notice these sessions energize them.
4% have discovered an interest in sports preparation or recovery.
Thus, we see that acupressure acts in an “adaptogenic” manner, according to the needs and profiles of individuals.
And you, what issue do you want to alleviate?
And does it work?
Apparently yes, and even beyond what we could have imagined when launching this survey.
Certainly, some people were not convinced: there were 8 respondents out of 325! That’s a satisfaction rate of over 97%.
As one team member pointed out: ‘No one will believe it, it looks like rigged election results…’
And yet, these are indeed the results we received
The rating given to the acupressure mat is 8.6/10, and nearly 9 out of 10 people are also willing to recommend it to others…
Interestingly, nearly half of the users first heard about the product through word of mouth or a recommendation from a friend.
This survey also brought to light a completely unexpected result:
More than half of the individuals who were on pain medication before starting acupressure have stopped or reduced their medication intake. This represents nearly 20% of our survey sample.
How long until the first results are felt?
Do you need to be a seasoned fakir with 10 years of practice and take the time to master vital energy?
Fortunately, the answer is no!
For 30% of practitioners, relief results manifest as early as the first session, for 47% within just a few days…
For 16%, it took a few weeks. And for the remaining few percent, results are still awaited.
Do you have to spend hours on it?
No, 20 minutes daily are sufficient, and in fact, it’s the average duration practiced by nearly two-thirds of those surveyed.
6% are so addicted that they spend over an hour!!!
During your first session, listen to your body and allow it the necessary time to adjust to this new sensation. You can start with sessions of about ten minutes and gradually increase the duration as the days go by.
Think you don’t have enough time? Good news: acupressure practice is compatible with other activities! Here’s proof with various uses from our aficionados:
- Sitting in front of their favorite series, the mat slipped behind their back.
- Legs stretched out on the couch, the mat under their legs, with a good book.
- Lying down, back on the acupressure mat placed directly on the floor or on their bed, while listening to music.
Did you mention placebo?
In that case, how do you explain that 21% of respondents experienced unexpected benefits?! For example, individuals using it for back pain noticed unexpected effects on their sleep or arthritis. Some people using it for pain relief found a slimming effect. And there’s nothing magical here! This can be explained by the dual circulatory and hormonal effect. A brief reminder of the principles of action and effectiveness of acupressure:
- Micro-circulation: Your back is quite red after a session because blood has circulated abundantly, flushing out toxins and delivering nutrients to the tissues.
- Hormonal: Each acupressure session releases endorphins and oxytocin, the hormones of well-being. This has an impact on lowering cortisol, the stress hormone, in the presence of which the body no longer burns fat. By reducing cortisol, your body can now once again burn fat… and relax.
- Energetic: On this subject, it clearly involves hypotheses by comparison with millennia-old practices of acupressure and acupuncture. Here, the application of acupressure mats remains mysterious and subject to skepticism for some. Nevertheless, what is evident is the nerve relaxation induced by the practice.
Choosing the Right Acupressure Mat
Difficult to make a choice given the profusion of options available on the market… If you’re looking for the best acupressure mat that meets your expectations, we’re here to help you see more clearly! Let’s take a look at the key points to watch out for:
- As the mat comes into direct contact with the skin, pay attention to the composition: opt for natural and non-allergenic materials.
- Pay close attention to the mat’s composition: beware of the foam in mats with very attractive prices, which may lose firmness very quickly.
- Avoid recycled plastic spikes: they are much less durable over time.
Climsom Zen acupressure mats meet all these criteria. For the outer composition, we opted for an organic cotton cover and hypoallergenic, non-toxic plastic spikes. For the inner composition, we use organic coconut fiber, which is non-allergenic, healthy, and durable compared to synthetic foams. Compliant with CE standards, Climsom Zen mats meet our requirements and your expectations!
Each Climsom Zen acupressure mat comes with:
