Cervical pain: heating pad VS cervical traction pillow

Have you ever felt throbbing pain in your neck? If so, you are not alone in suffering from neck pain. Cervical issues affect many people and can seriously impact the quality of life.

In this article, we will explore two different approaches to relieve neck pain: the Climsom Zen memory foam heating pad and the Climsom Flex cervical traction pillow. You will discover how these two products can help you regain your well-being through cervical traction.

1. Why is cervical traction recommended for neck pain?

Postures such as arching the back, working at a computer screen or “text-necking” (bending the neck to consult the telephone) often have the effect of tightening the spinal discs, pinching the nerves. Pain and reflex contractures are then felt, making the neck and trapezius tense, often on a chronic basis.

Cervical traction decompresses the cervical spine and vertebrae, relieving the nervous system, neuralgia and associated pain.

2. Why use the Climsom Zen heating pad?

The Climsom Zen cervical heating cushion has been designed to gently soothe neck and cervical pain and tension. Much more than a simple cervical hot water bottle, this cushion is a real ally for sore neck muscles.

Indeed, its memory foam is flexible enough to perfectly conform to the neck and firm enough to exert a continuous light cervical traction. A design specifically studied to support the neck complements this product, which is designed to, on one hand, evenly apply heat to the neck and, on the other hand, promote a gentle and light cervical traction to release tension and correct posture.

Its action is therefore twofold:

  • mechanical : it provides gentle cervical traction and comfortable support for cervical lordosis, decompressing the neck and freeing the nerves.
  • thermal : it diffuses gentle, adjustable heat at a choice of 3 temperatures: 37°C, 45°C and 55°C, to relax muscles and eliminate toxins.

By regularly using this memory foam heating pad for the neck, you address both the symptoms (neck pain and stiffness) through heat AND the cause (inflamed nerves and reflex contractures) through cervical traction and postural correction.

3. What is the difference from the Climsom Flex cervical traction pillow

The Climsom Flex cervical traction pillow is a firm, curved pillow designed to stretch the neck and relieve neck and referred pain. It is also covered with a full heating cover. Like the Climsom Zen, it not only helps alleviate symptoms but also addresses the underlying cause.

So how do you choose the best solution to relieve your stiff and painful neck?

Knowing that both pillows offer adjustable heat intensity.

That they are a solution for relieving neck pain.

And that both allow for gradual postural correction. Well, it all depends on the intensity of cervical traction you are looking for!

The two approaches are different, effective, and potentially complementary. The Climsom Flex corresponds to a more “active” approach, while the memory foam heating pad represents a more “passive” approach.

4. Gentle cervical traction VS intense cervical traction to relieve neck pain

The Climsom Flex cervical traction pillow is much firmer than the Climsom Zen heating pad: it allows for active cervical traction during short and intense sessions, typically lasting 5 to 15 minutes. It’s similar to performing an “active” exercise.

In other words, cervical traction with Climsom Flex is much more intense and limited to a short, voluntary period of exercise.

The Climsom Flex will be ideal for individuals seeking intense spinal decompression and active postural correction.

The Climsom Zen memory foam heating pad will also provide cervical traction, but much more gently, allowing for longer usage. It’s like doing a “passive” exercise, with no effort.

You can use the Climsom Zen memory foam heating pad while reading or watching TV, on your couch or in your bed. No problem if the relaxation from the pillow leads you to fall asleep on it : the heating function will automatically turn off after 30 minutes.

The Climsom Zen memory foam heating pad is therefore a complementary product to the Climsom Flex cervical decompression pillow, helping to reduce pain and correct posture.

Rather than opposing them, these two heating pillows can form the winning duo to combat neck pain. It may be beneficial to alternate between the two depending on whether you need a brief and intense exercise (Climsom Flex) or a lighter and longer cervical traction (Climsom Zen).
